Chinese Traditional Soup

Chinatown Foodcentre Lao Huo Tang (Chinese Soup)

This stall sells a variety of chinese traditional soup such as apple and pear pork ribs soup, lotus root pork ribs soup , old cucumber pork ribs soup, gingko pork tripe pepper soup, chinese yam wolberries pig tail soup and buddha jump over the wall soup
Their secret is in that they boil their soups over charcoal fire.

I have tried the lotus root pork ribs soup and the gingko pork tripe pepper soup. Their soup tasted awesome. It is fragrant, rich, thick and really flavorful but slightly saltish. I would definitely try their other soups in the future

This stall sells all kind of porridge such as meat, chicken, century egg and of course raw fish which is by far the most popular. Being in the heart of CBD area, long queue are expected and it usually starts to form at 10am.  But I don't like the porridge which is too stick. I prefer cantonese style porridge.

The price here is reasonable. A plate of raw fish is only $2 and 50 cents for a bowl of plain porridge

Bak Ku Teh

Hong Lim Foodcentre Morning Bak Ku Teh

Since this stall is in town, there is usually a queue on a weekday. I like the pig liver or bak ku soup to  go with rice. The soup here is black colour, must be they added dark soya sauce in the soup. In order to taste the softness & freshness of the pig liver and bak ku, the spices added and time to cook is important. I love the soup and would always go back for more. You order a pot of chinese tea and yutiao to go with your meal.

Pig Organ Soup

Jalan Besar Foodcentre Kelantan Pig Organ Soup

The soup is tasty and thick with pepper and stock
A bowl contains quite a good few pieces of pig's innards and meat and is yummy too.  The chilli sauce is well concocted to go with the meat. I love to drink the soup

Lavendar Foodcentre Mun Chee Kee Pig Organ Soup

The soup has a good portion of salted vegetable taste which gives a tanginess that offsets the piggy innards.

The braised intestines and preserved vegetable is yummy too. A great side dish to accompany the soup. The chilli sauce is well concocted to go with the meat.

I usually love to drink the soup and would go back for more soup

Serangoon Garden Foodcentre Soon Huat Pig Organ Soup

One of the best pig organ soup in Singapore !! Flavoursome soup without the taste of salted vegetableoverwhelming it. The stall sells delicious chinese herb braised pig trotter. The meat is surprisingly tender and succulent.

The chilli sauce is specially concocted to go well with the pig organ soup and piggy trotter.

Now, if only it is not so bad for the cholesterol.
